Ordinary people, making an extraordinary difference
In addition to your volunteer hours and financial support, Advocates for Children is always accepting in-kind donations of supplies which will help us to pursue our mission of serving vulnerable children. Below is a list of current wish-list items, along with the monetary donation which will provide for each item.
The following is our current wish list:
Youth in foster care do not have the money for senior pictures. These children deal with many challenges and would benefit from being able to participate in senior year activities.
Grant a Wish: $250 will buy one child’s senior pictures.
Foster parents open their home to children in need but are unable to afford special trips and outings.
Grant a Wish: $115 will buy a Disney on Ice Pass (family of five) OR a Zoo Pass (two adults and unlimited children).
Children in foster care often cannot participate in sports/recreation activities due to financial challenges of the foster families.
Grant a Wish: $50 will allow one child to participate in gymnastics (15 visit pass), swimming (season ticket), baseball league (one season), soccer league (one season), or ice skating (lessons).
To provide the opportunity for foster children to participate in special craft activities.
Grant a Wish: $25 will provide one child an opportunity to participate in a craft activity at Build-A-Bear, Simply Pottery, or elsewhere.

In the month of December, Heritage Fund will match the first $5,000 donated through the Grant a Wish program dollar for dollar, so this is a great opportunity to double your impact on behalfof children currently in foster care.
