Hey grown-ups!

This site is intended to help foster kids and their caregivers learn about “financial literacy”, which is a fancy way of saying “learn about money”.  As you can imagine, children in foster care face unique challenges when it comes to finances.  The links on this page will help to educate you, as a caregiver, about many of these topics, as well as about how to help the kids you care for as they learn.

The Financial Literacy for Foster Youth Project, aligned with the First Financial Foundation's focus on Workforce Development and Education, aims to break cycles of poverty, instability, and other adversities linked to spending time in the child welfare system. By providing foster youth with financial education, including skills in savings, budgeting, and credit management, this project equips them with essential tools for personal financial well-being and future employment preparation.  There are activities for young kids as well as for teens.

So dive right in!  You’ll find lots of interesting and helpful information and activities to help you help the children you care for!
